Medieval Song Project
Objective: To demonstrate an understanding of Medieval European culture by
creating a song or rap.
The Project
1.You
will create a song showing some aspect of medieval culture. You can use copy
change to take a popular song and change the words to go with medieval culture.
You may also create an original rap, or song. Each song or rap will have a
minimum of 20 lines and will contain at least 10 or more facts about the subject.
The facts will be written down and both the song and facts will be submitted
with a cover page.
2.You
must create a song folder that has a cover, the lyrics, and facts used in the
song or rap. The title of the new song, the title of the original song title,
your name(s) and an illustration will be on the cover, the new song lyrics will
be on the inside two pages, decorated, and the ten or more facts (which are
found in the song) will be on the back cover.
Requirements:
1.
Your song must be about some aspect of medieval life and culture. It may be
about a person, event, occupation or system. Your song
must be at least 20 lines long. (long
lines)
2.
One or two people may work together, but both must contribute.
3.The
song will be typed or in black or blue ink. There will be no spelling errors.
The work must written in standard song or rap form (stanzas, lines, etc.)
4.. You must have a list of
at least 10 or more facts that are present in the song. Write the line number
of your song next to the fact.
5. You
must have a cover page. It must contain the title of the song and the student's
name, date and period. The cover page must have Illustrations, clip art,
drawings or decorations. These may be hand drawn or gathered from the computer.
6.
You must have a title for your song. If the song is based on a popular song, the
original title (based onÉ.) must be stated.
7.
The project must be neat, colorful, pleasing to the eye and must contain
accurate information
8.
Your name, date and period must be on the FRONT.
Tips
Know
as many facts as you can about your subject. The more facts, the easier it will
be.
Choose
a song that is familiar.
Older
songs usually are easier to change. Ask you parents or grandparents for ideas.
Keep
a list of rhyming words and facts you may want to use later.
