Harappan Vacation Brochure
The City of Mohenjo-Daro


Objective: To demonstrate an understanding of ancient Harappan culture by creating an original Vacation Brochure inviting tourists to visit Mohenjo-Daro.

Your Vacation Brochure: Your Vacation Brochure must be neat, informative and show evidence of understanding the subject. All writing must be in ink, marker, typewritten or word-processed. There must be NO PENCIL, although color pencils are acceptable. It must be free of errors. The final brochure must be pleasing to the eye. Copy paper will be provided by the teacher. Your full Name, date and period must be on the brochure.

The Project-A Vacation Brochure. You will be given a sheet of copy paper. You will fold the paper into three parts, forming a brochure. Each section of the brochure will have writing and illustrations. The point is to create a brochure which will encourage others to visit the city of Mohenjo-Daro. In the brochure you will prove that you know the types of jobs, housing, products, and lifestyles that people of the Harappan culture enjoyed. All information should be accurate.

Requirements:

1.
The Brochure must contain writing which describes the various parts of the Harappan culture. This should be written to persuade the reader to want to visit the city of Mohenjo-Daro.Each section of the brochure should have writing telling about the great things happening at Mohenjo-Daro. Please include the following: description of the city and buildings, activities you can do, Jobs you may see the people doing, items you could trade for, and interesting things you may see. You may also include: directions, maps, souvenirs, etc. No pencil should be used for the final copy.

The Brochure must have color and have illustrations. These may be hand drawn or gathered from the computer.
3. The Brochure must have a title advertising the city.
4. The Brochure must be neat and free of errors.
5. The Brochure must contain the student’s name, date assigned, and period.

Instructions:


1. Decide what will go on each section of the Brochure.

2. Create a rough draft.
Check the writing carefully for spelling and grammatical errors.

3. Decide on the Illustrations.


4. Create the final Brochure.
Get a new sheet of copy paper for the final brochure. Place the writing on the brochure and illustrate each section of the brochure. The brochure should be colorful and attractive. The whole brochure should be professional-looking.
