Buddha Historical Interview Report

Objective: To demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of the life and philosophy of Buddha.

Your Interview: You will imagine that you have interviewed either the Buddha or one of his followers. Your Interview must be neat, informative and show evidence of understanding the his philosophy and nature. All writing must be in black or blue ink or typed. Typed is preferred. NO PENCIL. It must be free of errors. It will be neat and of high quality.
Cover Page: The final interview will include a cover page with the title of your interview, an illustration, your name, date and period.

Interview Requirements: You may interview Buddha or a follower of Buddha. Your interview must contain information about the following:
1. The life of Buddha. (4 or more questions about his life before and how he became the Buddha)
2. The Philosophy of Buddha. (4 or more questions about the 4 noble truths and the 8-fold path)
3. What Buddha thinks of various issues and problems in today's world. (4 or more questions)

When writing the historical interview, keep in mind your goals. You are to discuss the Buddha's life, his ideas, and his opinions of life today. Be creative, yet make sure that your interview is factual and true to the personality of the Buddha. Don't make up facts. When talking about today, really think about what the Buddha would think about today's society.
There should be a minimum of 12 questions and 12 answers. More questions and answers are fine. Questions should focus more on “how” and “why” questions. Answers should be explained and not just “yes” or “no.”. Each answer should contain a minimum of three sentences.

Format
You may use your name or the word “Interviewer. Place a colon (:) after the name and the name of the person you are interviewing. Skip a line between answers and questions. Use correct puctuation, spelling and sentence structure.
The interview must begin with an Introduction which introduces the Buddha, and end with a good conclusion, thanking the Buddha for the interview.

Interview Example

Interviewer: I would like to present to you today our special guest, King Tut, who is from
Egypt. He has graciously agreed to answer any questions we may have.
Hello Mr. Pharaoh. How are you today?

King Tut: Oh, I am fine and rested. I have just finished journeying down the Nile. By the way, my real
name is Tutankhamun. You can call me King Tut.

Interviewer: Thank you, Mr. Tut. What was your childhood like?....

2. The Interview-no errors-no pencil-pen or typed only
