Arabian Haiku Poster
Objective: To demonstrate an understanding of the geography of Arabia by creating three Haiku poems and a poster about the land and people.
Your Poster: Your Poster must be neat, informative and show evidence of understanding the subject. All writing on the poster must be in ink, marker, typewritten or word-processed. NO PENCIL. It must be free of errors. The final poster must be pleasing to the eye.
Instructions: There are two parts to this project.
1. Three Haiku poems about Arabia
Write three Haiku poems about the land and people of Arabia.
A Haiku is a three line poem, usually about nature. The first line has five syllables. The second line has seven syllables. The third line has Five syllables.
Example:
Beautiful Ocean
Surfers headed toward the beach
Waves of blue water
The three haiku poems must be about Arabia and it's people.(Nomads, towns, etc).
2. The Poster
The poster is a small page-size piece of card stock. The teacher will provide this.
The student will place all three Haikus on the poster in a neat and colorful way. The poster will then be illustrated with designs or pictures that capture the theme of Arabia.
The poster must be neat, in color,and free from errors.
The student's name, date and period must be on the back of the card.
The Final Poster Project will be neat, attractive to the eye, free of any errors, and of high quality. Extra and creative touches are encouraged and appreciated. This project may be displayed.
